What requirements should photovoltaic cables meet?

A. High and low temperature characteristics requirements

Accept low temperature: the temperature is lower in the western and northern regions in winter, and the low temperature in the polar regions can reach about -40°C. This requires the cable to have good low temperature resistance.

Accept high temperatures: surface temperatures in the eastern and southern regions can easily reach +70°C or more, and extreme temperatures in areas with poor heat dissipation may exceed +90°C or more. This requires the data temperature of the cable to be able to meet the requirements of the power station operating at extreme temperatures.

B.Heat and moisture resistance requirements

Use environment: In many power stations built directly on the water, the cable is required to operate normally in a humid environment for a long time. Frequent changes in temperature and humidity directly affect the insulation and sheath ageing of the data. Special requirements: Consider the factors affecting the ageing performance of insulation and sheathing materials in hot and humid environments, the selected insulation and sheathing materials at +90°C and 85% humidity.

C. The requirements for sunlight and UV resistance

Most of the cables in photovoltaic power stations are laid bare, and the cables from the solar modules to the junction boxes and even to the inverters are in most cases laid directly bare, which requires the cables to be able to withstand sunlight and UV radiation in order to ensure normal operation for long periods of time under direct sunlight and UV light.

IV. Requirements for sunlight and UV resistance Use environment: seaside, beach, salt field and other special areas. Photovoltaic cable conductors suitable for this environment are tinned copper conductors, which enhance the conductor's resistance to oxidation and corrosion.

D. Ozone corrosion resistance requirements

Power stations are installed in areas with high ozone content, ozone has a certain corrosive effect on the cable sheath, i.e. accelerating the ageing of the sheath and affecting the use of the cable. Conventional cables do not consider the impact of ozone on the cable sheath, while photovoltaic cables are designed to take this effect into account.

The characteristics of our photovoltaic cables from Guangdong Cables are.

(1) Long-term working temperature of the cable conductor -40°C to 125°C

(2) The maximum temperature of the cable conductor during a short circuit (maximum duration not exceeding 5s) does not exceed 280°C

(3) Excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, oil resistance, UV resistance, ozone resistance, low smoke, halogen-free, low toxicity and flame retardant.

(4) Thermal shrinkage ≤ 1%; 20,000h thermal life test, elongation at break ≤ 50%.

(5) The bending radius of the cable when laid shall be not less than the following provisions:

D <8mm 4D D≥8mm 6D (Note D is the cable outer diameter)

Our photovoltaic cables meet various requirements and comply with standards such as EN 50618:2014, 2PG1169/08.07, etc. The quality is guaranteed.
