After being irradiated by an irradiation accelerator, the molecular structure of the cable material will change, thereby providing its performance in all aspects. In fact, solar systems are often used in harsh environmental conditions, such as high temperatures and UV radiation. The use of low-grade materials under such environmental stresses will result in brittle cable jackets and even break down the cable insulation. All of these conditions directly increase the loss of the cable system, as well as the risk of short-circuiting the cable and, in the medium to long term, the possibility of fire or personal injury. To deal with the potential hazards caused by high temperatures, manufacturers tend to use double-insulated rubber-jacketed cables. For these reasons, the use of dedicated solar cables and components in solar energy systems is highly desirable.
